It does not matter how huge a pile someone has of marvelous examples of various types of exquisite sculpting rocks. A rock is a rock until it is turned into someone's object of desire, be it a tiny carving of a frog to dangle from an ear or lip to a 13 ton monstrosity of a rhinocerous charging in place in a hotel lobby. Nor is it very important that the material be expensive. Sandstone can be sculpted beautifully and a well done sandstone sculpture can easily beat a poorly done Australian opal sculpture any day of any week.
